 lætur Kínverjana hafa það heldur betur út af HongKong og fleiri yfirgangi þeirra.

Þetta er einna herskáasta yfirlýsing sem ég hef lengi heyrt. Hann er auðvitað að ávarpa grimmt einræðisríki sem fer fram með yfirgangi og lygum á alþjóðavettvangi. Það er staðreynd að heimurinn þarf að hafa fyllstu varúð í samskiptum við slíkt ríki sem þekkir enga miskunn heldur fer allstaðar fram með eigin hagsmuni ofar öllu. 

Íslendingar mega sannarlega hlusta á það sem Trump forseti segir um Kína. Það væri glapræði að ljá máls á að leyfa Kínverjum landgöngu í Finnafirði eða taka undir hjalið um belti og braut. Kínverski Kommúnistaflokkurinn þekkir ekki hugtökin sóma né drengskap og nægir að horfa á atburðina í HongKong og framferði þeirra og yfirgang í Kínahafi til að sannfærast um eðli þessa einræðisflokks sem stjórnar Kína.   

Trump meinar það sem hann segir og vonandi svarar hann Kína á verðugan hátt.

Gungan faldi sig í kjallaranum og þarf nú að sýnast meiri en hann er, kosningar nálgast og tap virðist liggja í loftinu. Hann hefur lengi látið Xi ljúga sig fullan. Gott að hann er búinn að sjá í gegnum  hann.

Slæmt að vera auðtrúa og heimskur í forsetastól. Halda mætti að hann hefði ekki haft aðgang að her manna sem vinna við að greina stöðu og ástand í Kína og öflugustu leyniþjónustur í heimi til umráða allt kjörtímabilið.

En næst þegar Xi sussar á hann þá breytist tónninn aftur í lofrullu og undirgefni, og ekki í fyrsta skipti. Við getum bara vonað að Xi leggi ekki til að hann gefi Kínverjum Flórída.

Hvaða skoffín heldur sig einræðisherra sem getur óskorað sýnt yfirgang og sent herinn á mótmælendur og heimtað að þeir séu lokaðir inni í 10 ár? Er það ekki sama skrípið og hefur verið að lýsa yfir stuðningi við mótmæli í öðrum löndum og varað erlend stjórnvöld við að sýna mótmælendum hörku?
